Boris Jeanquartier studied human medicine at the University of Basel. He subsequently gained his first surgical experience in general surgery and in the intensive care unit of the University Hospital Basel. This was followed by research work in the laboratory in Basel under Prof. Raphael Guzman, during which he investigated neuroregeneration after ischemic damage with regard to therapeutic effects of umbilical cord stem cells in children with cerebral palsy. Boris Jeanquartier started his neurosurgical training in Basel in 2021 and continues it in Bern under the supervision of Prof. Andreas Raabe since 2022. His main areas of interest are the neuroregenerative effects of stem cells, neurosurgical traumatology, and degenerative spinal diseases.
